Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and Switchcase Labs LLC when you use Alma as a candidate or as an authorised agency or recruiter user. A separate written agreement, order, or subscription takes priority where it expressly says so. Submitting an enterprise interest form does not itself create an Alma service contract.
1. Who we are
Switchcase Labs LLC is a Delaware limited liability company and operates the Alma service ("Switchcase", "we", "us"). You can reach us at support@heyalma.work.
2. What Alma does
For candidates, Alma is a voice and text career-advice service that helps align goals, develop a career profile, research roles and companies, and prepare applications, outreach, and interviews.
For authorised agencies and recruiters, Alma provides human-led decision support. It responds to user-supplied mandates, questions, and criteria by surfacing relevant candidates and evidence within the applicable candidate-permission boundary. Alma does not independently decide to reject, select, hire, or place a candidate; the authorised human retains the decision.
The enterprise route currently collects expressions of interest for a possible future or separately agreed service. It does not create a self-serve enterprise workspace or represent that an enterprise product is live.
Alma provides guidance and information, not legal, immigration, financial, or regulated careers advice. We do not guarantee interviews, offers, visa sponsorship, placements, hires, or any other employment outcome.
3. Eligibility, access, and accounts
You must be at least 18 to use Alma. Candidate platform access is granted through an accepted invitation, activation code, or another approved access path. Agency and recruiter access is subject to the applicable authorisation and commercial arrangement.
You must provide accurate account details, keep your password confidential, and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. Alma uses strictly necessary browser storage to keep you signed in and to return you to the correct invitation or activation step.
4. Subscriptions and billing
Where a paid candidate plan is offered, a third-party payment provider processes checkout, payment, and full card details. Alma does not store your full card number. The checkout or order must identify the price, currency, billing interval, applicable usage limits, and whether the subscription renews before you pay. A recurring candidate subscription continues for the stated interval until it is cancelled. Contact support@heyalma.work to request cancellation until a self-service cancellation control is available.
Agency and recruiter access is not a self-serve candidate payment plan. It is governed by the negotiated subscription, order, contract, or invoice. An enterprise expression of interest does not trigger a charge. Nothing in these terms removes a cancellation, refund, or other right that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
5. Voice sessions
When realtime voice is used, a specialist AI voice service processes the live audio together with the career profile, role, research, and prior-session context needed to provide the conversation. Alma does not keep an audio recording, but currently keeps full turn-by-turn text, including your words, Alma's replies, and text prepared by the assistant for a voice turn that may not have been played if the turn was interrupted, as well as summaries, timing, and usage information.
No automatic schedule currently deletes voice-conversation text after seven or thirty days. Current retention and rights-request handling are described in the Privacy Notice.
6. Acceptable use
- Use candidate features only for your own career search unless Alma has expressly authorised a different role.
- If you act for an agency or recruiter, use Alma only for genuine mandates and candidates you are authorised to represent or review, within the candidate's applicable permission and confidentiality boundary.
- Do not use Alma output as the sole basis for an automated employment decision or represent Alma's recommendation as a human decision you did not make.
- Do not misrepresent identity, qualifications, authority, evidence, or candidate permission.
- Do not probe, overload, scrape, reverse-engineer, or attempt to access another person's account or private data.
- Do not use Alma unlawfully or to discriminate, harass, deceive, or infringe another person's rights.
7. Your content and candidate authority
You retain your rights in information you submit. You give us the permission needed to host, process, analyse, and present it to operate Alma under these terms and the Privacy Notice. Candidate information is not made available to an agency or recruiter merely because it exists in Alma; the applicable product permission and authority boundary still applies.
Drafts Alma prepares for a candidate may be used by that candidate, subject to checking their accuracy and any third-party rights. Agency and recruiter output remains decision support and must be reviewed by an authorised human.
8. Our service
The Alma software, design, and content other than user-provided content belong to us or our licensors. We work to keep Alma available and accurate, but do not promise uninterrupted service or that public-source research is complete, current, or error-free. Features and providers may change; material paid-service changes will be handled under the applicable terms or order.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, we are not liable for loss of opportunity, loss of earnings, or indirect losses arising from your use of Alma, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
10. Ending this agreement
You may ask us to close your account by contacting support@heyalma.work. Account closure, subscription cancellation, and deletion of personal data are separate processes; the current deletion position and your rights are explained in the Privacy Notice. We may suspend or close access for a serious or repeated breach and will give reasonable notice where appropriate.
11. Changes to these terms
If we make a material change that affects an existing service, we will give appropriate notice before it takes effect where required. The date at the top identifies this version.
12. Governing law
Except where a negotiated business order or agreement says otherwise, these terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you use Alma as a consumer, this does not deprive you of non-waivable protections or courts available under the law where you live.
